QC Lab Manager

Responsible to maintaining a site specific quality system to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications, achieve superior quality and reliability levels. This includes the supervision of quality technicians as well as maintaining technical and scientific support to the operation/production group.

??Develop, maintain, and implement site specific Quality Systems with respect to established internal specifications.
??Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain quality of incoming goods and manufactured finished products.
??Perform periodic audits
??Maintain Quality Laboratory results, procedures, equipment, including Calibrations and Verifications.
??Monitor adherence to product specifications. Disposition of all out of spec product and notification of all concerned.
??Act as a technical resource for operational group regarding product compliance.
??Monitoring and documenting process and product controls.
??Maintaining SOP relating to product Quality, Safety and Security.
??Monitoring plant performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports including customer complaints and out of specification products and processes.
??Ensuring that all operational management and Corporate Quality notified in the event of out of normal issues.
??Identifying relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training, including initial and ongoing refresher training for employees and contractors as required.
??Lead investigation and document all non-conformances and site specific customer complaints. Identifying Root Cause and Corrective Actions and follow ups.
??Reporting all site specific Quality KPIs.
??Ensuring all laboratory tests and calibration procedures are properly understood & carried out.
??Supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.
??Writing technical and quality systems reports.
??Manage and maintain the site?s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
??Manage the site implementation of corporate quality goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to QA/QC.
??Maintaining awareness of the business to optimize customer service, including operational schedules to best coordinate Quality efforts to serve customers in a timely manner.
??Monitoring Plant Sanitation, liaising with sanitation chemical supplier to optimize environmental, process and product performance.
??Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
??Working knowledge of Microsoft Office-Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
??Knowledge and use of SPC techniques.?
??Experience with a LIMS system, SAP desired.
??Experience in performing chemical manufacturing auditing and hosting 3rd party or regulatory audits.
??Experience in microbiology is a plus.
??Ability to lead a team and develop talent
??Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to execute multiple projects
??Ability to deliver clear, concise recommendations and communicate well across a wide range of contacts.
??Knowledge of technologies / manufacturing processes (preferably in the Oil & Gas industry)

Work Conditions:
The position is principally performed indoors in a traditional chemical manufacturing setting. Daily activities will include visiting the plant & warehouse facilities. Activities include extended periods of standing, working at a computer monitor and performing laboratory testing using common laboratory reagents. Occasional lifting of products (25-30 lbs)


??BS degree in Analytical Chemistry, or related science
??7-10 years of experience in Quality lab
??3+ years managing technician level staff preferred. Flexibility depending on candidate experience will be considered.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
